I just got a quote for a JD 970 with 440 loader for 19,000. I like the size of the machine and the financing seems even better. 10% down 7.75%.He had a used 1070 with 264 hrs and the same loader for 18,500 but 20% down and 12.5%. and only 90 day warrantee. What I am having trouble deciding: I thought I wanted HST and R4's (can't have them on the 970)Looked at the 4300,4400 and they seemed a little to small. (weighed ~500-1000 lbs less)Looked at the Kubota's L3010 and L3410. they seem similar in price, smaller but have HST.NH dealer didn't have any TC29 or 33's to compare but the price seemed higher.JD dealer is much closer and seems good (Depends on how the price compares)Wife likes JD and green machines. Helps when your spending that much money. Thanks for everyones input.

Where did you get that a JD 4300/4400 Weight 500 to a 1000lbs less than a JD970? (bad gouge). All three tractors are within 100lbs of each other. You could easly get a JD4400 with JD430 loader for the same price as the 970 you mention, and get the latest tractor improvements that go with the new model type vise a more out dated tractor. If you really like the 970, its a great tractor (had one myself) but you would need to get a much better deal than $19000.00 to not consider the JD4400. ....
